The chapter starts out with a narration that states Tyronar's ambitions aren't going to be limited to the Hornheim region. He wants to go full blown world conquering. What fortune then that our heroes pop out from a Helheim portal then, isn't it?
Amazingly enough, Tyronar doesn't instantly decide to call forth a hail of arrows. He is challenged by the party for his title of Jarl though which he agrees to. You only need to make two choices here.
First, you need to decide if you want to challenge Tyronar to single or group combat. For the purposes of the secret lunatic objective, you need to choose group combat.
Second, you get to choose who precisely is going to challenge Tyronar's position as Jarl. Only Hornheim residents can do this, meaning your options are Bjarki, Berit, Ralfnir, Helga, or Sigrid. For me, the choice was obvious...Helga.
For my chosen four, I brought Angelus for extra turn granting, Albert as my staff user, and offensive might in Fred & Isabelle.
For group combat, Tyronar brings along four of his elites. Killing the man himself ends the chapter, but the secret lunatic objective has an extra requirement....you need to kill those four elites before taking out Tyronar. Let's take a look at what Tyronar's squad can do first and foremost.
Starting out, we have Tyronar who's every bit as fearsome as you would expect some called the Thunderwalker would be. He gets a res buff from one of his fellow elites right off the bat for one. He's got a Brave Bow and Ragnarok axe, the latter just being a much stronger Brave Axe. His personal skills capitalize on this with Jarl (-10 avoid to all enemies within 2 tiles of him), Crushing Blow (Skl% chance of dealing 50% more damage), and Determination (+30% skill activation rate if the user's below 50% hp).
The next two elites are familiar faces if you've been getting secret events during your journey in the Hornheim region, Yrma & Njal. Neither one does anything radically different compared to last time, just higher stats.
Finally, we have fresh faces in Baldr & Astrid. Baldr's a Gladiator with all three physical reaver weapons along with the Triangle Adept skill (doubles the effects of the weapon triangle).
Astrid though is a huge threat. Almost as much as Njal honestly. She's a Druid with Nosferatu for sustain and a bunch of staves, two of which are ailment inflictors in Silence & Berserk. On their own it's a minor annoyance, but Astrid has a curveball she throws out via her personal skill Powerstaff. If she uses any kind of staff, she gets an extra turn.
My plan is pretty simple early on. Everyone not named Fred gathers up on the eastern side of the arena with Isabelle having Dawncaller out and moving up to lure in Baldr. Albert focuses on boosting the res of Angelus first, then gets an extra turn to use a Holy Water on himself.
Fred has one simple purpose early on...to equip Gladiolus and move up enough so he can draw in Yrma, but not anyone else. He too uses a Holy Water.
With any luck, Astrid is going to insta target Helga with Berserk first. If she hits, she'll probably try to pull the same stint on Fred. His high res coupled with how far Astrid will likely be from him will result in a low chance for it to actually connect.
Yrma goes down first after a failed unga bunga attempt with her Devil Axe. She doesn't get a reversal, but Fred does pull a crit out on his 2nd strike and takes her down.
Turn 2...Fred moves in such a way to make Tyronar go in his direction and attack with his Brave Bow. He does pull more than Tyronar though. Namely, Sigmar decides he wants to go round 3 as he enters this chapter as its secret event once more. A couple brave weapons, but otherwise not much to say about him. Drops a Goddess Icon though!
As a small bonus, if you're fielding Elmer, he can have a chat with Sigmar and pick up his Lone Wolf skill.
Not much else to say from here as the rest of Tyronar's squad gets picked off one by one (even if it took a little longer than usual cause Njal shenanigans). Tyronar himself then gets dogpiled by everyone (and quickly realizes why NOBODY wants to say the wrong words to Helga), bringing about his defeat.
There are some nice rewards for this chapter. Whomever you chose for the position of Jarl will get the Jarl skill for themselves...and a weapon. If it's Berit or Bjarki, you get the Ragnarok axe. Ralfnir gets all of that and a Jarl class change too.
Finally, Helga & Sigrid. Obviously they can't use axes. As such, the axe turns into the Ragnarok tome. Same stats and all. Helga gets even more power and I love it, heh.
More next time!
