Aya jumps down a hole backstage and nails the landing (while in high heels I might add!). She sees a young girl who looks suspiciously like the one from her recent flashback as she runs off, letting Aya check out the area.

There's a few doors nearby, but all of them are locked so you're forced to run north until a short scene triggers. A rat comes into the picture, having clearly eaten something bad enough that causes its cells to mutate and, in turn, make it morph into a monstrous version of itself that Aya has to fight.

The rat has two attacks to watch for. It can try to bite Aya or, more commonly, charges a fireball from its tail and sends it at Aya, splitting into 3 shots when it's launched. It doesn't move while charging the fireball so if you can get to its side, you can easily dodge the fireballs. Otherwise, being far enough away from the rat can let you slip in between two fireballs.

As for Aya's choice of weapon, just stick to her Club 1 and she can drop the rat in two hits. Save your bullets for now since you'll only need your gun for the next boss.

Plenty of doors on this screen to check out, but once again lots of them are locked. There is an open door right next to the big double doors though so you'll want to head through that to find a dressing room with a Medicine 1 in the back. More important is what's on the charred corpse, a Theater Key. Any locked door that isn't the big double door out in the main hallway can be unlocked with this.

Also worth noting in this room is the phone indicated by a blinking red light. This is where you go to save your game so take advantage of it before going back out to check all the locked rooms.

The most important room to check after exiting is the one directly to your south on the left side. There's an Ammo +6 clip in the closet and a diary on the desk next to the mirror. Make sure you have a free slot in your inventory before examining the diary. It's written by our wayward actress and seems to imply she falls ill often and needs meds. More important is the Rehearse Key you get after reading the entire diary. This will unlock the big double doors and lead to a boss fight.

Before checking that door out, finish exploring everywhere else. There's some minor stuff like a Medicine 1 and some Ammo +6 clips in the remaining rooms on what I like to call the hot spot screen (and a couple people that die, one from burn wounds suffered, another who gets instantly roasted trying to evac).

A "hot spot" is basically a fancy term for where a random fight can occur as you'll see here a couple times. What you'll see in a particular hot spot is pretty consistent overall. For this particular spot, it'll be two rats. You'll likely have to weave in between fireballs until one of them dies, but it shouldn't be too hard to deal with.

On the first screen where the one NPC's charred body is, the two doors on the right side lead to the same room with a chest that can contain either Ammo +6 or Medicine 1. There's also a fight in here where you can run into rats & parrots. The latter's attacks are either to rush up to Aya to try pecking her or do a fly by pecking.

The real loot comes from the sole door outside on the left. There's a closet with a rat inside you can kill, then can search the closet for a P220 handgun.

Also in the room is a chest with either a Defense +1 or Offense +1. These are consumable items that raise a stat on either your weapon or armor by the stated amount.

Last thing to grab is behind a wall in the corner. Part of it is weak, allowing Aya to crawl through into a new room to grab a N Protector armor.

After all this, equip the P220 handgun, save your game, then head through the big double doors to the north to find the actress. In theory, she's Melissa. In reality? Someone by the name of Eve decides to take over her body and give it a makeover in a cutscene. Eve talks like this isn't her first rodeo, stating it's time for mitochondria to be free once more, then a fight starts.

Compared to first fight with her, Eve is a fair bit more dangerous. She can swipe at Aya, but the real danger is her laser move. Instead of a single laser that could be easily dodged, she now fires two lasers, one in front of and behind Aya. Eve may opt to slowly move the lasers in a direction after firing, forcing you to move in the direction they're going or take a decent chunk of damage.

Best time to attack Eve is right after any of her attacks. Healing takes priority though.

Once Eve's had enough, she causes another flashback in Aya. Looks similar to the last one, but with the addition now of a strange man. Not much that can be done after the flashback ends but to pursue Eve through another hole.

More next time!
