Earlier this Summer, I had an opportunity to spend an afternoon along the CSX tracks in Arlington, Virginia. Located across the Potomac River from Washington DC, R.O Junction is perfect for an afternoon of passenger train rush hour traffic. Virginia Railway Express and various Amtrak trains are the bulk of the traffic here, with CSX sending in some occasional freight trains. First time shooting the VRE trains, and have to say it's an interesting operation!
RO Junction has always been on my list to visit, especially with its proximity to Reagan National Airport (DCA). Not too many places you can planespot and train watch at the same time, sometimes with perfect timing of the two!
Also included some extra bonus shots from the Winter along the RF&P near Alexandria and Woodbridge, VA. Train info listed in video.
