In late 2020, Coaster commenced testing of their brand new SC-44 Siemens Charger locomotives. Delivered over the Summer of 2020, these locomotives sport Coaster's brand new paint scheme; needless to say, quite the difference between the old! Before embarking on revenue testing and service, these test trains offer an opportunity for train crews to qualify and operate on the new locomotive model, as well checking for any possible defects. From the few times I saw the trains, two round trips are operated with two different sets, which provides ample opportunities to chase and see it along the line throughout the day. Newly repainted coach cars are also in the consists, providing a glimpse of the future look of Coaster.
