Today, I’m taking on America’s only Fish & Chips Challenge, but this time, I’m doubling up on the fish to get the full experience! We're heading to Shakespeare Pub in San Diego, California home of the "Great White Whale" Challenge. This authentic British pub has been run by British expats since 1990 and is famous for its award-winning fish and chips, cozy Tudor-style décor, and lively atmosphere. With classic pub food, imported beers, and live soccer and rugby matches, it delivers a true taste of the UK. If you’re searching for an authentic English pub experience in America, this is as close as it gets!

The "Great White Whale" Challenge features a two pound fillet of battered cod, two pounds of proper British chips, and a large bowl of peas. If I can finish all the food in 45 minutes or less, I'll get the $48.95 meal free, score a t-shirt, and a photo on their Facebook Wall of Fame! Just to note, if you beat the challenge, you can come back after 1 year and do it again.
