Ukraine, Austria, Russia, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Iceland, Norway, & the UK are just some of the countries a career in calisthenics have allowed Mark Leitz & Rick Seedman to visit and teach in.
For their third time in the UK the American calisthenicians chilled at fizzYcaL's 'HQ', unfolded a couple of deck chairs on an unusually sunny day and had a chat!

Mark: My name is Mark Leitz. From Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Living in Brooklyn, New York.
And I'm a professional percussionist and bodyweight training specialist in New York City.
Rick: My name is Rick Seedman. I'm from New York City. And I'm a video editor as well as a bodyweight trainer and I combine those two things.
The name of our group is MR Calisthenics. You guys that have seen it online it probably looks like Mister Calisthenics. But the 'M' stands for Mark, the 'R' stands for Rick.
Mark: Right now we are on the 'Above The Bar' Tour, and we're meeting up with Lee and Sai. This is our third summer of Rick and I coming over to Europe, to do workshops and seminars.
Rick: There's really no way to get strong fast. It takes time, and some people it takes more time than others. But if you rush into things it seems like the shorter route. You say, "ok, I'm gonna, you know, go crazy and do all this stuff I'm not ready for and I'm gonna get there." But it ends up being the longer route because you will probably hurt yourself, have to rest and then take some more time, and that becomes a really long route.
Mark: Like Rick was saying you just got to break it down for second, and just take it a little slower so that everything really gets engraved into your brain, and your creating good habits and not having to constantly unlearn bad habits.
You know, one of the main points we want is, to develop the body properly and develop the body balanced. You see a lot of comments coming from people saying that, "calisthenics is all upper body training." One of our classes we do is completely lower body, it is all core and everything down, we don't do a push-up, pull-up or dip. It's incredibly important. Legs are really more than half your body. So, if you are trying to achieve real fitness, and really be in shape if you neglect over half your body then you are just fooling yourself.
Rick: This is our third time in London and the London scene here for calisthenics is sick. There's high level people and they take it serious.
Mark: And it just seems that there is a lot of camaraderie over here. A lot of people just really get into the group aspect and workout and push each other, and just support each other.
