Almost everyone gets open theism wrong, including the people who argue against it.
The caricature says open theists believe God is ignorant of the future. Almost no open theist would ever say that.
The future is genuinely open, full of real possibilities that are not yet settled. And God knows it perfectly and exhaustively for exactly what it is.
That is a very different thing from saying God is in the dark.
