Your pet is coming back. And I don't mean that as a nice sentiment. I mean it as a biblical claim.
The Bible starts with a good Creation — God making animals, calling them good, giving them the same Hebrew word for "soul" that He gave humans. Then sin and death enter the story and everything breaks. Creation groans. Animals suffer. The world stops working the way it was designed to.
But the Bible doesn't end there. It ends with God saying "Behold, I make all things new." The Greek word is kainos — renewed, not replaced. He takes what already exists and heals it. And Romans 8 says the entire created order — not just humans — groans and awaits its liberation.
So that dog who greeted you at the door every single day? That cat who curled up in your lap when nobody else could comfort you? That animal who loved you with everything it had?
Restored. Healed. More alive than they ever were here.
