Today we look at our trusty mains analyzer which suddenly stopped working. After some poking and testing we finally fixed it at no cost.
The UPM 6000 is a three phase mains power analyzer which measures, records and displays voltage, current, power and power factor. It also shows THD and harmonic. Exactly what you need to see the difference between a cheap chines consumer VFD and an industrial grade drive.
The long time recording function is priceless for documenting mains failures and brown outs.
It's 20 years old, also rather slow and heavy compared to modern equipment, but it does exactly the same job, just much much cheaper. I certainly don't want to miss it.
Once cleaned and re-assembled we will show the purpose and functions of this device in a later episode.
