In this video, Action Fighter, released in 1989 for the Atari ST by Sega/Mindscape/Firebird.
Based on 1986 Sega's arcade, Action Fighter is an overhead, vertically scrolling combat game were initially we ride a bike and then continue driving a car, in an attempt to reach the end of the level alive. The game reminds me Bally/Midway's Spy Hunter as you're a an equally vulnerable road user but, in my opinion, I must add that here the enemies and obstacles are more numerous and deadlier.
Initially released as an ST 16bit exclusive port, the game has good graphics with a fast scrolling, nice chiptunes and partially digitized sound fx. The playability is good but despite perfect joystick controls, IMHO, the difficulty is on the very hard side of the balance due to the fast action nature of the game mixed with the restricted playing area.
