Born in a one-room log cabin in Kentucky, Abraham Lincoln had come quite a long way when he first took step in the White House as the United States' 16th president. He led the United States through the most challenging time in its history during the American Civil War while at the same time experiencing personal tragedy with the death of his young son Willie and the debilitating grief suffered by his wife Mary. During this program, you'll meet President Lincoln, portrayed by Robert Peale, and learn about the man behind the legacy, his inspirations, his shortcomings, and his hopes for the nation.
