Northeast Georgia History Center | Appalachian Honey Cake @NortheastGeorgiaHistoryCenter | Uploaded June 2022 | Updated October 2024, 22 hours ago.
Released from our Members-Only 2021 season:

Join Historian Marie Bartlett (nee Walker) as she makes a traditional Appalachian dessert, honey cake. Honey cakes have been around since ancient times, when people came up with the tasty notion of mixing flour and honey. Since then each culture has its own unique twist on the recipe, yet it is almost always associated with especial occasion. Honey cake is a simple cake, but sure to please a crowd.
