A storm in the Netherlands, with wind speeds reaching up to 100 kilometers per hour, has prompted a yellow weather warning.
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) reported that winds of up to 100 kilometers per hour were observed in coastal and northern parts of the country.
KNMI announced that a yellow warning had been issued for the affected regions and noted that the strong winds are expected to continue until morning.
At the Port of Rotterdam, containers toppled onto vehicles, leading to the closure of part of the road to the port. In Schiedam, several glass panels from the roof of the municipal building fell to the ground, while in some cities, trees were knocked down onto roadsides and cars.
Local media reported that the severe winds have caused widespread disruption and significant damage across many regions of the country.
