A day in the life on an Antarctic expedition ❄️🐧
Here’s what a typical day looked like in Antarctica with Polar Latitudes Expeditions — but no two days were ever the same👇
⏰ Wake-up call
A gentle announcement over the speakers sharing our location and the plan for the day.
🥐 Breakfast (~7 AM)
Fuel up, grab coffee (available 24/7 ☕️), then head back to the room to layer up.
🧤 Gear up (~8:30 AM)
Base layers, mid layers, expedition parka, boots — repeat daily.
❄️ Morning activity
Zodiac cruise through icebergs or a landing, depending on weather and location.
🍽️ Lunch (~12 PM)
Warm up, refuel — but never stray far from your jacket and camera for wildlife sightings 📸
Ship repositions for the afternoon activity.
🧊 Afternoon landing
A few more hours of exploring Antarctica before heading back on board to warm up.
📋 Daily recap & briefing (~6 PM)
Learn about what we saw that day, plus tomorrow’s tentative plan.
🍷 Dinner (~7 PM)
Four-course meal…because this is still a luxury ship after all!
😴 Early night (~9 PM)
Rest up and do it all again tomorrow!
Plans change. Weather shifts. Wildlife surprises you. And that’s all part of the adventure!
