A cover of "A Cup of Liber-Tea" aka the main theme from the video game Helldivers 2.
At the request of bassist Noble, he asked me to cover this theme after making me play the game, which I'd definitely recommend as it's an absolute blast!
The arrangement came together fairly smoothly, adding a metal flair to the first part of the original song, and also including the soft section which I feel it often gets overlooked. The rhythm and leads for the most part were quite easy to play, but deceptively tricky to get the rhythm perfect as most of the song is in 5/4!
After the soft section, we actually decided to use 'Loadout Selection' theme as the build up and rhythm section of the guitar solo, just to mix things up a bit which I think helps keep the arrangement fresh. The solo was also a fun challenge to write as I'm not used to writing solos purely in 5/4 and it was a longer solo section too.
