A rock/metal cover of 'Kill The Itch' from the video game NEO: The World Ends With You.
I've mentioned in previous videos that the TWEWY games are criminally underrated and its soundtrack, and I'm so happy the original game got a sequel!
This song is probably my favourite track in the game, I was instantly hooked by the swung feel of the song, awesome riffs and super catchy vocals!
The OST for NEO TWEWY is definitely better than the original, partially due to just having more songs, but as well as a being more rock orientated is totally something I can get behind! That said, there's still a good amount of amazing songs that are more synth based too, so expect more TWEWY covers!
The song was pretty easy to record and mix for the most part. Fairly simple bluesy rock/metal riffs and leads are right up my alley, as well as the pinch harmonics just being super fun to play! Noble killed it on bass as usual, holding down the groove, and I decided to give drums a shot on this one too (although I had to partially program some of the drum fills and double kick parts).
Finally, I tuned the song down to D instead of E standard. This is partially to help give the song a heavier edge than the original, as well as it's easier for me to sing. as I usually mention in vocal covers of mine, I'm not really a singer! The main reason for me doing vocals is primarily for practice, so bear that in mind, and either way, I hope you enjoy the cover!
