John Alcock Jr. (1740–1791) was an English organist and composer who belonged to a distinguished musical family. Although less well known today than some of his contemporaries, he left a charming collection of organ voluntaries that reflect the elegance and clarity of eighteenth century English church music.

This bright Voluntary in G consists of a Prelude followed by a Fugue and comes from his Eight Easy Voluntaries for the Organ (c. 1775). The music combines graceful melodies with lively contrapuntal writing, making it a delightful example of the English organ tradition.
