Just another odd meter thing that I’ve been practicing lately. This one is in 7/4 time.

I’ve been taking drum lessons for four years now (!), and I’m approaching my third year of being retired as a professional band instrument repair tech! So, mostly these days, I exercise (walk a lot) and sit around and play the drums all day. 😀

Hadn’t touched the trumpet in a while. I’d rather get a front tooth chip fixed first before getting back into the horn. Right now though, I’m totally immersed in all things Jazz and Latin Drumming. And Gretsch drums!!!! They’re the best sounding. (Honestly, most brands sound good. Gretsch’s just have a vintage vibe and each drum has its own little musical soul inside. They’re very organic and earthy sounding too (if that makes sense), which I really like. (Not that there’s anything wrong with other drums that sound differently- ALL sounds have musical potential in my opinion.) Wow, I waxed on rather long for a very short video. Anyway, that’s kind of an update. Talk to you all later,

Dave
