In this video I share my top tips for capturing the landscape photography images you want to capture!
I give you five tips that are what help me to capture my images, as well as appreciate and enjoy the entire experience of heading out into the beautiful landscape.
For me, enjoyment is a huge part of landscape photography, and I believe that if you are enjoying it taking great photographs just become he bonus at the end of it.
Some of these tips you may have heard many times before, but I have tried to add my own perspective to them and explain why they are important to me.
1. Use a tripod - primarily to slow me down and give me the headspace to really concentrate on what it is that I am capturing.
2. Use manual settings - doing these helps you to be more creative and capture the type of photograph that you had visualised.
3. Get up early (stay up late) - not only for getting good light, but to really benefit from that feeling of solitude and as if the entire world is there just for you.
4. Challenge yourself - doing something difficult makes the result seem that much more rewarding, and keeps things fun and interesting.
5. Forget about taking a photograph - we always seem to find something once we stop looking for it. Trying to hard to find an image can do the opposite, so just relax and enjoy the surroundings, and often you will see something you want to photograph.
