I haven't had much experience with photographing snow, and living in the southern part of England I don't see a great deal of it. But when the Beast From The East descended upon the UK my family and I found ourselves in one of the hardest hit areas of the country!
We were trapped in a tiny village in Northumberland for three days when the worst of the snow came in. We were safe, warm, had power, water, and enough food, but there were times when we wondered how we would get out if we needed to!
Despite being cut off, because we were in such a rural location there was plenty of images to be had, and I took the opportunity to get out with my camera when I could. So here is a short video that documents what I captured in the blizzard
