In this video I count down 5 of the best books students might read in (UK) secondary school. English Teachers have some degree in their choices of book so your experience will vary! These books were chosen based on how much I like them and the engagement students have demonstrated when I taught them or observed them being taught. The choices include texts from Shakespeare (yes), Orwell (of course) and others all of which students are likely to encounter on their journey towards their GCSEs.
