1991's The Liar was Stephen Fry's first fiction novel. It tells the story from schoolboy to adult of a compulsive liar called Adrian. Adrian is quite the cad, lurching from scrape to scrape in search of an easy life. Instead he gets embroiled in a spy plot that may not be all it seems.
Stephen Fry is better known for his TV work especially Jeeves and Wooster and QI.
