Seagulls Gather | Death of Grass by John Christopher Book Review @SeagullsGather | Uploaded May 2022 | Updated October 2024, 11 hours ago.
My review of the 1956 novel Death of Grass by John Christopher. In this text the world is ravaged by a virus that begins in China and destroys crops around the world leading to famine and anarchy. An incredibly bleak depiction of the chaos that follows the virus reaching Britain. John Custance races north to his family's farm but will he, or his group of survivors, make the journey and what will they find if they do?
John Christopher is the author behind the famous Tripods series and Death of Grass was published as No Blade of Grass in the USA.
