Hello everyone! Welcome to AERO Gatineau-Ottawa 2024!
Presenting the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and their 6-ship of F-16 Fighting Falcon's! This was the first time the Thunderbirds ever performed at this airshow and their only Canadian show for their 2024 schedule. The team were one of three main headliners of this event, the other two being the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Snowbirds and the Royal Air Force (RAF) Red Arrows. This made Gatineau the only airshow in Canada and possibly North America to have three flight demonstration teams present.
The entire team was based out of Ottawa/Macdonald–Cartier Int'l (CYOW) Airport and started the show off with an overhead opener to crossover break. Due to the cloud cover and wind in the area, a flat show was called out by the boss and the team proceeded. Regardless, the Thunderbirds performed a swift and fierce demonstration over Gatineau, coming really close with some awesome passes. After the performance concluded, the team re-joined south east the field for a return to Ottawa.
