On September 22nd and 23rd, 2022, Toronto and Ottawa was visited by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on a Canadian state visit. The visit wrapped up his week long trip which also included stops in London, England to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and New York, USA for the United Nations General Assembly. This was President Yoon's first time in Canada as President and the first time a South Korean leader had visited Canada since the 2010 G20 Summit in Toronto.
President Yoon arrived Thursday afternoon in Toronto onboard the South Korean Government Boeing 747-8i Korean Air Force One on RWY 33R from New York-JFK. Due to the shear size of the aircraft, they were parked at Pad 5C in the Central-Deicing Facility. Yoon then went downtown to visit a few universities and meet with artificial intelligence scholars to exchange opinions on expanding cooperation between South Korea and Canada.
The following day (Friday morning), Yoon departed in the morning heading for Ottawa for a lunch and bilateral meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Enjoy the video!
