On November 22nd, 2022, Toronto Pearson Int'l was visited by a very special visitor. A United States Navy Blue Angel- Blue Angel 7 to be exact. The teams spare jet and coordinator. They were here conducting a site inspection/survey as the Canadian International Air Show plans to host them next year. Each year, the Blues visit every single show site ahead of the upcoming airshow season to perform site surveys/inspection to ensure all logistical details and requirements are met for the show. The crew onboard was LCDR Thomas “Franz” Zimmerman and LCDR Brian “Air Bud” Vaught.
Blue Angel 7 arrived in Toronto on Tuesday afternoon from Duluth on RWY 23 as VVBA7 and parked at the North Lounge where it was met with the Canadian International Air Show team and show media. After a cold overnight, the team headed out the next morning. VVBA7 departed on RWY 23 from Toronto heading to Seymour Johnson AFB in what would be one of the coolest departures I've ever seen at Toronto Pearson. A few seconds later and they were soaring up in the clouds. Looking forward to seeing the entire team next year! Enjoy the video!
