The Intreccio is a combination of the tocco and a cavazione or better a passo.
It clears the line of attack to lunge a straight thrust. a basic tool for all fencer, a must have for weapons like the epee, dueling sword or smallsword!
We are not doing olympic fencing but historical fencing or HEMA, which means we follow the book "Scuola della spada" from Paolo de Scalzi from 1853. He taught the sword or epee as it were a sharp weapon aka a dueling sword and you better don't get hit. That makes fencing the martial art and real fighting as it should be seen as, just as it were taught in European weapons training for centuries!
