Could Lexus be preparing a 600 horsepower RX Morizo RR to challenge some of the fastest luxury sport utility vehicles on the market? New prototype sightings have inspired these exclusive renders showing what the ultimate performance Lexus RX could look like.
The prototype points toward a dramatically more aggressive RX, with wider wheel arches, 295 millimeter rear tires, multi spoke wheels, red brake calipers, a lower ride height, and visible round exhaust outlets. The final production version could go even further with larger front air intakes, a unique rear diffuser, and more aggressive aerodynamic details.
Even more interesting is what could be underneath the hood. Preliminary information suggests a new 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine could work alongside 2 electric motors, potentially producing around 600 horsepower. If those figures become reality, the RX could move surprisingly close to performance sport utility vehicles such as the BMW X5 M and Mercedes AMG GLE 63 S.
The Morizo name carries special significance because it is the racing nickname used by Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda. Lexus has already applied the Morizo RR name to the high performance LBX, making the possibility of an RX Morizo RR particularly interesting.
Lexus has not officially confirmed the RX Morizo RR, its specifications, or its final design, so the vehicle shown here should be viewed as a render based on available prototype information. A potential premiere is expected closer to 2028.
Would you choose a 600 horsepower Lexus RX over its German performance rivals? Let us know in the comments, and make sure to like the video and subscribe to DPCcars for more upcoming vehicle news, renders, prototypes, and world premieres.
