The 2026 Kia Ceed SW is the estate Kia just killed off, and that is exactly why it is worth a proper look. Kia has ended production of the Ceed hatch, this Sportswagon estate and the ProCeed to free up its Slovakian factory for electric cars, so a 2026 Ceed SW is genuinely the last of its kind. In this footage-first review we walk every inch of it, from the long practical body to the calm, button-filled cabin, and then we do the one bit of maths that decides whether the run-out estate is a smart buy or a car with a catch.
Under the bonnet of the filmed car is a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 140 PS and 253 Nm, driving the front wheels through a smooth automatic (a manual is offered too). It is not quick, at around nine seconds to 100 km/h, and it returns about 6.3 litres per 100 km. The real story is space: the boot holds 625 litres with the seats up, which is more than a VW Golf Estate, more than a Ford Focus Estate, and crucially more behind the seats than a Kia Sportage SUV, the very car most buyers pick instead. Fold the 40:20:40 rear seats and it opens out to 1,694 litres. Inside, the cabin is showing its age against the newest rivals, but it is honest and easy to live with, with real physical buttons, a clear digital driver display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless phone mirroring. And it is all backed by Kia's seven-year warranty.
The honest part: this 140 PS version is a plain petrol with no hybrid help, so its own energy label rates it class E at 143 g/km CO2. A full-hybrid Toyota Corolla Touring Sports does the same family-estate job on roughly 4.6 litres per 100 km, so if fuel and tax bills matter most, the Ceed is behind the times in its final year.
