The 2026 Renault Clio is the all-new sixth generation, and it turns a supermini most rivals had given up on into one of the best small cars on sale. This is the E-Tech Full Hybrid 160: a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a small battery for 160 horsepower and 0 to 100 km/h in about 8.3 seconds. In town Renault says it runs on electric power most of the time, sipping around 3.9 litres per 100 km and emitting just 89 g/km of CO2.
Inside there are twin screens with Google built in, better materials, and a cabin that finally feels a class above. The catch is the boot: the full hybrid holds 301 litres, ninety litres down on the petrol Clio, because the battery sits under the load floor. A Toyota Yaris Hybrid answers with legendary reliability and up to a decade of warranty, but only around 130 horsepower to the Clio's 160. Prices start near EUR 28,990.
