Heres a snippet from our forthcoming interview with Jay Anthony aka UK Jay.
The 41 year old played a key role in the beginnings of the modern bar calisthenics movement in the UK and here he shares how he achieved his 40 plus strict-form bar pull-ups:
Grease the groove is very helpful for when you want to increase reps. That helped me get my 40, 40 plus pull-ups.
My version of grease the groove is basically take one specific exercise and you do one set of that exercise max reps everyday, for about seven to ten days. And then rest maybe three to four days, it depends on how youre feeling.
Get the right nutrition in and then start the cycle again. See if your numbers are up - have a target number. Over the seven to ten days you should start seeing increases. Try and increase your reps by at least one or two reps.
