This was certainly one of the more well-equipped models in Sony's Digital8 lineup; this model has a large 1-megapixel CCD which helps this camera to record a much crisper image than similar models with smaller image sensors. It also has the ability to act as an "analog pass-through" wherein you can use this camcorder as a capture card that streams and converts the video digitally over firewire.
