2 Six Years Old
It is the age you are on Saturday
And the day you learned to swing,
It is peanut butter and a thermos,
In that lunch box that you bring.
New jeans bought yesterday,
Seven-thirty down the block,
They called that place a bus stop,
Somehow connected to the clock.
Then a bus ride with the big guys,
You hiding on the side,
And an even older bus driver,
But he has to let you ride.
You see the one they call the teacher,
She will teach you many things,
Like cleanup after finger paints,
\And never jump out of the swings.
Then bells, and some whistles,
Fall in line, and you can’t talk,
There are places you must be at,
And places you can’t walk.
We had our lunch in a big room,
Then a thing they called a nap,
Means lying on the floor somewhere,
On a rug they called a mat.
Ten thousand days tomorrow,
Even more now I’ve been told,
Will never match that first day of school,
When I turned six years old.
On our trial run yesterday we got 22 views, 5 up checks, and a comment. That isn't bad for our little channel, so off we go with prompt number 2. Our prompt is "Six years old" which caused me to remember that first of day of school.
