I have a Grandfather Case that needed a movement. On GW action site, I found one for Cheep. Came with the Face, Movement and Chains. I had this for a while and finally got around to cleaning the movement. A week later I looked in the box and discovered the weights and shells to my delight, lol.
This movement needed a 12 rod and looking on EBay, I can see why nobody bid on this movement. $80 to $136.00. I did find one person that had one with one rod broken and was able to get it with shipping for $50.00.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
