Clear of this vertical shmup developped by Capcom in 1990
and 4th installment of the 194x series.
Gameplay is pretty fun with some interesting mechanic like rolling
when hugging the walls in addition to charged shot and smartbomb.
To score is mandatory to keep rank high so item values is multiplied,
higher the rank higher the multiplier (up to x3).
Rank up happen at the end of every stage depending on enemy kills.
Items are hidden in every stage or dropped by red plane formation,
all Capcom icon like yashichi, capcow, pow and strawberry.
Also you don't want to get hit because there is only one life with
health bar and energy item give huge point at max health
and no bombing either because bomb consume health bar.
I made this run on Wolfmame 0.219 in November 2020.

![Varth: Operation Thunder Storm (World) 1CC [ Podless NoMiss ] 8.6M pts
No death clear of this vertical shmup developed by Capcom and published in 1992
on arcade and later on consoles, more recently on pc.
Various element of gameplay come from 19xx series, infact i consider Varth part of the series,
or at least a spin off set on another planet (Varth) 700 years later.
This game is also known for Ryus cameo, in addition to various others (Yashichi, Mobi chan, etc..).
I did a podless run for scoring (50K for every stage w/o pods) and i used a bomb macro
to quickly refill bombs. This macro consist in 30Hz autofire on direction down,
this because in this game ship movements recharge bombs,
most of highscore run (including wr) use this even if it feel like a tool assisted.
I did this run on Wolfmame 0.264 with 30Hz autofire and the above mentioned macro.
For a more skillfull run (with manual bomb recharging)
go check DGNs run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0z5O1gu3_I&t=2580s
done on Japan version (with checkpoints).
