You know what this is? This video right here was the gift I was making for you LAST year, but then decided to change to "Becoming a Legend" and of course your Highlight montage because I felt they were both the much more uplifting pieces you needed for that busy and distant time of your life. While this one here is an intense, darker score.....that I absolutely LOVE btw! It just didn't seem right at the time. Plus it rather lacks on having the right form for personal messages & quotes. (Hence why I was making it with your Highlight reel). Still I thought it was fitting to finish making for you, especially after that blistering Polar Vortex, ahe.
So, whats it been HD14, 3 years since we first crossed paths? (Jan 31, 2012) Gah, I remember as if it were yesterday you PMed me for help evading copyrights on your first vid. You were the first person I talked with on youtube. We shared, we commented following, formed a Circle with 4 more invaluable individuals, and the rest is history. Now, the two of us have shared a ton together over the course of time, and even more so this past year, and the previous months. We've become as close as friends can be here, and learned much from one another -- in both the positive and negative sides. Through laughter and tears, collisions and collabs, spoiled surprises and forgiveness, comments or Jolene-ing, PMs or bombshells, through tests, attacks, sickness or fear, we've been there and done that; lending a helping hand with words of encouragement when needed the most.
Whether through puns or accidents we have also be united in a mutual understand on Elsa between one another that's opened doors on both sides. I thank you for opening that door in my life, and for being a Christian example in always coming back and not giving up when life has had you worn or depressed. As you said, there is no easy answer in those times. Nonetheless, it was still these times that helped connect our friendship; if one good thing has come from them.

This person is a trustworthy, devoted friend, teacher and fellow dragon compadre! One who gives his 101% in who ever or whatever he cares about, yet at the same time, knowing when to let go. HD14's got an unrivaled way with words, and an analytical way of expressing himself in every commute. It must be a gift. *winks* He's a respected editor and hardcore Dragons fan, making him in other words, the "Hiccup" of the Circle. If it wasn't for him there's no chance I would still be here today. Not simply in editing inspiration or YT in general, but because of the true friend he's been to me in a season of my life when I needed him; in helping me come to terms understanding personal issues that we both connect with and see eye to eye in over these past three years. Clearly a part of God's plain in the grand design.
Also, since we've become as close of friends should be here, I wanted to give tribute to that and show my gratitude for all you've done, with another gift I'm currently working on for you. (Yep, Polar Shift needs to swing by Arendelle for a Cryokinesis boost ;) I started about 4 weeks ago and over half way done on it but I knew I would be pressed for time leading up to your b-day with the end of my senior year wrapping up in full fury. (Consider this a teaser) *winks*
About this project: Well, it was originally suppose to be all HTTYD, since last year we had NOTHING on HTTYD2, but now we are up to our necks in footage so it was inevitable that I ended up forfeiting my original sketch of it in favor of a parallel of the two final battle(s). You can clearly see the division of where I left off and a where I started off again. (Okay technically it was precisely at 0:50). I also realized something though upon returning: how much my editing has CHANGED in that time! Its faster, but as one commenter put it- messy. Can any of you see it? I had to try slowing down to match in sync with what I had already made a year ago, but its still got that edginess I'm not liking. Hm IDK, but as always, I learned something here too.
Since I've been working on this since last year, I actually finished it 2 weeks ago. Yep, I was EARLY! Never have I been so punctual for a birthday (or holiday) this is a record for me. Now I know if I ever want to be ready for someone or something its gotta be at least a year in advance. Naturally though, I couldn't be fully on time; that's just uncharacteristic of me to do. So I started the second part...
The score is worth mentioning again; when I first heard it, I was petrified! It was so stunning and reminded me a lot of "Magika" by TSFH. Its what lead me to this amazing composer, Mark Petrie, whos now top favorite composer of mine with these epic instrumentals! I hope you will find it as bone chilling as I do xD
