While the PS360 versions of this game are first person shooters, Eurocom (The best 007 developer since Goldeneye) decided to go with a third person, Gears of War style of game, and the end product turned out, surprisingly, good.

Granted, this game is insanely short, and has no multiplayer support. Once you beat it a couple of times, there is little replay value. However, considering I bought this on black Friday 2010 for $8, I have gotten more than my moneys worth out of it.

While stagnant third person duck-and-cover shooters are a dime a dozen on the PS360, there are not a ton of similar games on the PS2. Killswitch, Winback, and probably a couple of others I can't think of off the top of my head come to mind.

The switch to third person makes the PS2 version more unique than even the PS360 versions. It may not look as pretty when compared to the PS360, but, by PS1 standards, you can tell this was released near the end of the PS2's lifespan. The visuals are crisp, clean, and glossy. Eurocom definitely shows their talents at PS2 development. The framerate is smooth too.

The only slight annoyances I have with the game is the fact that I hate QTE scenes, and, while the ones in this game are not overly annoying, they can lead to some instant-fail-and-reload sequences, and as stated, it is way too short.

However, seeing as this game came at a time when developers were focused on the next generation, giving the PS2 very little focus (madden, and guitar hero 87), it was a nice surprise to see a game this polished released. Short, but sweet. My only other minor complaint is Circle-targets. I hate them. They feel so inaccurate, but that is a small complaint for this game.

The Bottom line: Find this game for cheap, and enjoy. It won't keep you long, but it's gameplay is polished, and it looks like a final gen game should, getting the best visuals out of the console. Even though more modes would have been a welcome edition, Eurocom still made Jame's Bond's farewell game a solid, polished title.
