I was first introduced to The Ball thanks to Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3's Mod support. That's right, the PS3 version of Unreal Tournament 3 had full mod support. The Ball started life as a mod for Unreal Tournament 3 on the PC and PS3, but has since had a commercial release on Steam proper. I've been meaning to pick up this game for years, and finally picked it up yesterday on a Steam sale.
It's a really fun, Portal-esque puzzle game where you solve puzzles by pushing and pulling a giant ball around. There are even survival modes where you take out hordes of enemies (like bugs and zombies) by squishing them with the ball.
This is a really inventive, well designed, and engaging game. I highly recommend it. I have been a fan of this game for years since I first played it. There have been some changes for the final release of the game from it's mod release.
If this game interests you, and you like supporting indie developers, head on over to Steam and pick up a copy of this game for yourself. If you like Portal and want another unique first-person puzzle game with a unique atmosphere and environment, you should get on the ball about getting The Ball in your Steam library.
