After the Meaning Crisis — Metaphysics Course Announcement J.P. Marceau 2023-10-13 | During the past few months, I’ve been writing a book and assembling a course to provide a thorough introduction to the metaphysics that have emerged in the symbolic world over the last few years. In particular, I want to cover the best of what came out of the discussions I had with Jonathan, John and Paul around non-reductive naturalism, levels of being, and the Incarnation. If you liked my articles/conversations but didn’t quite get it, I’m hoping that this course would fix that.I’m thinking about 6 sessions of roughly 2 hours. Cost around 160$. Sometime on Thursdays. We would probably start early November.Now, before opening and publicizing the course, what I’d like to do here is gauge interest, so please, let me know in the comments if you’d be interested. Taking Metaphysical and Existential Risks with Vervaeke and Bergson J.P. Marceau 2019-08-03 | Both Vervaeke's and Bergson's ontologies are viable. Bergson is however willing to take more risks, and gets more in return. This is true ontologically and also existentially.As far as the meaning crisis goes, Vervaeke's position can actually facilitate holding Bergson's by giving it a viable fallback, which, after all, still points towards the cultivation of virtue and wisdom. Thus, the very real existential risk of accepting Bergson's non naturalism can be strongly mitigated.
