Day 12
As I traveled through the ruins of Skull Woods, I found a fire rod. I still hadn't found the monster guarding the maiden yet. I used the fire rod to burn away some of the dead foliage and accidentally opened up another part of the ruins. This was the lair of the flying moth-like monster guarding the maiden. It was weak to fire and fell quickly.
A crystal containing a girl named Ephemerelda revealed itself to me. She told me about the Great Cataclysm. I had heard the prophecy before, that someone would start the Great Cataclysm. I didn't hear that a hero was supposed to rise up and fight whoever started the Great Cataclysm. Ephemerelda also said that if I don't defeat Ganon, no one will be able to stop him. I can't let Ganon destroy Hyrule.
The next maiden was held at a place called the Gargoyle's Domain. It took some time to find. Some of the villagers in the Village of Outcasts were once part of a group of thieves led by a man named, Blind. I've heard of Blind and his thieves. They used to run Kakariko Village, but Blind had disappeared years ago. Blind must've come here to look for the Triforce.
The creatures who were once thieves pointed me toward the Gargoyle's Domain (for a price) and told me how to open it. I pulled the trident off the gargoyle statue in the center of town and the hideout was revealed.
This place had hardly any light. Luckily, I was able to find a pair of gloves that made me feel even stronger. Eventually, I found what looked like a dungeon. There was a girl there. She was relieved to see me and claimed to be one of the maidens. I wasn't sure at first since the maidens are contained in crystals, but I decided to guide her outside.
I should've trusted my instincts. We came to a room with a little bit of sunlight and the girl transformed into a hideous monster! He was fast and actually hit my shoulder with fire magic. Something about the way he moved...was this Blind? I kept dodging magic and eventually figured out Blind's favorite technique was to attack from behind. I tricked Blind into stepping into the light and that was when I sliced him in two.
The crystal appeared. This maiden's name was Milene. She told me about the Knights of Hyrule who were nearly wiped out in the Imprisoning War. I know the history of the Knights of Hyrule. Zanji always told me that we are part of the knights and we have to serve the Royal Family with honor. Though it seems I am the last of the Knights of Hyrule. I am the one who has to take on the title of hero and destroy Ganon.
While Zanji may have been avenged with Agahnim's death, I have to save the land of Hyrule and Zelda. With every crystal I've found, I'm one step closer to finding Zelda.
