You're Flying Illegally!!

You're flying illegally!! This video will discuss the rules of flying your RC model airplane or remote controlled drone at various locales in the United States. With the prevalence of ready to fly, electric powered RC aircraft we can fly our models in areas formerly closed to gas powered RC models.

The video will discuss the intersection of the FAA and local law enforcement with the "rules of the road" on where you can and cannot operated and fly your RC model aircraft.

I will discuss the FAA website (www.FAA.gov) and show the special section that covers UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Small), with a range of information for modelers as well as law enforcement personnel.

I will then go over details from various communities for flying an RC model or drone on public land, private land, beaches, National Parks and National Forests.

In summary, there has been a great deal of work done to date with accommodating RC model aircraft flight in a ranges of locations. A bit of research should make you well prepared in the case local police question any of your actions.
