1910 Fokker Spin Build and Fly
In this video I will go over my project of the 1910 Fokker Spin to include my build and fly experiences. The 1910 Fokker spin was the trainer aircraft designed by Anthony Fokker used to teach himself how to fly.
The 1910 Fokker Spin build and fly is a simple radio control airplane. The fuselage is flat with balsa longerons forming the structure. The wing is not complicated and is glued to the underside of the fuselage.
This is a great choice for and RC airplane build as well as a simple scale model airplane project.
I use three channels of control for throttle, elevator and rudder for the Spin. I used a two cell lipo battery and a brushless motor from my parts bin for power.
The RC plans for the Spin are free and available for download at the link. You can enlarge the plans to any size you desire, I made mine a 28 inch wingspan.
My model came out a bit heavier than I desired at 5.5 ounces, but that is why we construct prototypes. The model had plenty of power and handled well. I was concerned that maybe I did not have sufficient control throw with the small rudders, but they worked out well.
