Everyday Better is kicking off 2025 with a month’s worth of conversations designed to help you reset for the year ahead. In the first episode of our series, Leah sits down with Dr. Aditi Nerurkar, a Harvard physician and expert in stress and burnout. In their conversation, Dr. Nerurkar outlines five powerful strategies for resetting your baseline stress level in order to prevent burnout.
“The goal of life is not to live a life with zero stress. It's actually biologically impossible. You need a little bit of healthy stress, and so your brain and body are really good at managing short-term stress, a short burst of stress and then you come back to baseline,” says Dr. Nerurkar. “But if you never come back to baseline, you start getting these unhealthy manifestations of stress.”
Each week on Everyday Better, you’ll learn about research-backed techniques for improving your mental, physical, work and relational well-being.
