Here, I'll show how I installed a custom skid plate by Richochet onto my Yamaha WR250R. This skid plate was modified to fit the California model 2015-2017 Yamaha WR250R, but they say it'd work back to 2008. I'd be surprised if anyone else going into this project would have so much trouble. Most of the U.S.'s WR250R's are going to not have an EVAP canister. That'll make the installation much easier. The non-California models get .3 more gallons of gasoline too!

It didn't fit quite right. Maybe it's because the plate warped as they welded the portion on that allows for the EVAP canister, but I had to egg out three out of four of the holes in order to install it. Of course, the bottom two holes may have needed it as I opted to use the stock washers to get a little more distance from the engine to the plate. I'm glad I did as it still rubbed on my frame. Thankfully, the factory zinc coating has protected the metal so far, but this needs attention.
