Germans setup decoy plants to confuse allied bombers. The decoy plants were large in size and contained features that matched the real plant including roads, buildings chimneys, and oil storage tanks. They also emitted smoke and fire to similar to real plant damage. On some missions 80% bombs fell on these decoy plants and were considered effective.
