In May, 1944 the allies started a concentrated effort to target Germany’s Oil facilities. The bombs and fuses selected were based on the best available data with the goal of maximizing plant damage. We will look at the logic in bomb fuse selected and the results of a post war evaluation of on the effectiveness of this selection. Unfortunately, the bombs selected were too small in size and their delayed fuse setting was not as effective as the instantaneous fuse setting.
