🚫 Not every curly hair product lives up to the hype… and that’s okay!
I tested A LOT of new products this year, and these are some that did not live up to the brand's claims:
✨ Olaplex Weightless Nourishing Mask
Claim: Lightweight hydration + volume that lasts all day
My Result: Waxy feel, zero slip
✨ Pattern Mousse
Claim: Touchable hold, volume
My Result: Soft curls, hold disappeared
Might Work For: Coily hair and protective styles that don’t need hold. Those who want volume, soft hair, and don’t mind frizz or a lot of refreshing
✨ En Love Beauty Moisture Crush Mousse
Claim: Hydration, frizz control, no residue
My Result: No hold, sticky frizz
Might Work For: Those who have coily, thick hair because of the higher oil & butter content and don’t mind frizz or a lot of refreshing
✨ The Doux Gangster Wrap Foam
Claim: Soft hold, humidity resistant
My Result: No hold, stretched curls
Might Work For: Coily hair and protective styles that don’t need hold. Those who want volume, soft hair, and don’t mind frizz or a lot of refreshing.
✨Fenty Homecurl Cream
Claim: Hold + frizz control, split end repair
My Result: Too heavy, short-lived soft hold
Might Work For: Those who have coarse hair and want a very soft finish, and don’t mind frizz or a lot of refreshing
💡 Key takeaway: These products and brands aren’t “bad," they just didn’t fit my hair type or strong hold needs. That’s why I help my clients figure out the best products for them inside my Curl Coaching Program!
