I visited Proline By The Fire 2024, which had a crazy cool Western Theme! I was there to represent YouMagine.com - if you are a 3D designer and look for a place to sell your files, YouMagine is your dedicated RC platform!
It was fantastic to catch up with friends and make new friends, run trails and see what innovative items were announced by the various vendors present. I always enjoy California despite it being such a massive journey. After the event I took a more scenic route north to visit Amain Hobbies in their new facility. It was great to see with my own eyes how the empire of Amain evolved into a hub for the RC community, that also moves huge amounts of product. With a number of tracks and events hosted, the organization is nothing short of impressive.
On my way over I visited Morro Bay, an exceptionally quaint coastal town. The fishermen and women and seals set the tone, along with the massive rock and the chimneys. Heading North via Big Sur was closed, but I managed to see some of HW1 right before San Fransisco. On my way back from Chico I headed past Exeter Hobbies, then also had a look at Lake Isabella. A final stop near Santa Clarita was made before heading back.
California is beautiful, take the roads less travelled and keep your eyes open so you don't miss it!
My Short Wheel Base axial SCX10iii Jeep JL 2 door: Take an entry level Axial BaseCamp builders kit and shorten the wheelbase to around 10.5 inch using only Axial parts.
