Cannondale launched two brand new EMTB's for the 2020 season, the Cannondale Habit Neo and the 2020 Cannondale Moterra. I was fortunate enough to go check them out in person! Cannondale hosted a press event in Alpbach, Austria where I got the opportunity to take the Habit Neo 1 out for a ride through the Alps.
Development and engineering progress in this segment of biking move at breakneck speed. Not only is the Habit Neo one powered by the all new Bosch CX Performance motor, it also has the KIOX display with a ton of features. Combined with a massive overall weight reduction compared to previous generations as a result of the all carbon front frame, and the 625Wh battery on higher spec models, this latest generation will take you a lot further, faster.
Some quick other specs, compared to my current Cujo Neo 130: All new Magura brakes, 220mm disc in front, 200mm in the back. A completely revised frame geometry which makes setting up the suspension to your particular height and weight easier. 140mm front suspension travel (160mm for the Moterra), and 130mm rear. Frame sizes over M get fitted with 29inch wheels, an improvement over the previous 27.5.
Am I a pro athlete? Hell no. Far from it! But: I am having heaps of fun on these latest generation of bikes, and hope I can perhaps inspire you to get out and explore. There is too much to see and too much to do.
