In its various forms, Atheism has a long history, going back thousands of years. There are those who will claim that atheism is neither a worldview, religion or cult, a claim that the millions who have lived and continue to live in communist countries would entirely refute. For example, in the Soviet Union, from the early 1920s, children were indoctrinated through goverment programs to become full-blown communists, and advancement was impossible unless one freely walked through doors labeled, there is no God.
